Winglet Spare Parts Bulletin

Dear BLR Winglet System owners,

BLR strives to bring the highest quality products and innovations to the market using only the finest materials. Recently, the current Incandescent Recognition Light in BLR’s Winglet System was discontinued by the manufacture. An LED Recognition Light will replace the Incandescent Recognition Lights. This does not impact the quality or the STC of the Winglet system. For more information on the new part number, please review the Spare Parts Bulletin below.

King Air’s requiring upgrades are the King Air 90, 200, and 300. Again, STC’s will not be effected by this upgrade.

SUBJECT: LED Recognition Light to Replace Incandescent Recognition Light

 

1. EFFECTIVITY:

All BLR Aerospace Winglets equipped with incandescent recognition light P/N: 01-0770453-01 installed on Beechcraft King Air 90, 200/250 and 300 aircraft.

 

2. PURPOSE:

Replace out of production incandescent recognition light when light failure occurs with equivalent LED recognition light. See Table 1.

3. BACKGROUND:

Whelen Engineering Co no longer manufactures the incandescent recognition light. Whelen has developed a direct replacement LED recognition light.

 

A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

LED Recognition light assembly P/N: 01-0771898-PO is designed to be identical in form, fit and functional to the out of production Incandescent light assembly. The primary difference is that the new light assembly utilizes state of the art LED technology with integral power supplies as the source of illumination. The light assembly requires 28Vdc.
