EVERETT, WA., October 6, 2011 – BLR Aerospace, a leading provider of performance enhancement systems for aircraft manufacturers including Hawker Beechcraft and Bell Helicopters, has delivered its 400th King Air Winglet System to Elliott Aviation of Moline, Illinois. BLR Aerospace is showcasing its Winglet products this week at the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas, Nev., Booth C11838.
“The BLR team is delighted to work with Elliott Aviation,” said Dave Marone, BLR’s vice president of Sales and Marketing. “It is especially appropriate that we are celebrating this important completion with one of the aviation industry’s oldest family-operated service providers. Elliott Aviation also is highly regarded for its operational excellence and innovation, making the company a perfect match for the BLR Winglet System.”
“Adding BLR winglets to our Hawker Beechcraft King Air 200 in charter service is the right move for us,” added Mike Saathoff, director, Maintenance Sales, Elliott Aviation. The system’s performance advantages fully justify installation, and we are looking forward to a rapid return on investment and long-term benefits for this aircraft and for our company.”
The Winglet System increases overall wingspan by almost 3.5 feet, providing an increase in wing aspect ratio and a measurable reduction in induced drag. These improvements permit faster flight with lower fuel consumption. In addition, the Winglet acts as a physical pressure barrier, extending lift to the wing’s outboard extremities. By increasing wing efficiency, the BLR Winglet System provides superior handling qualities, especially during slow flight, one-engine-inoperative (OEI) flight and at higher flight levels. These performance enhancements reduce time to climb and extend aircraft range. Winglet System installation also can increase aircraft resale value. Systems are available for Hawker Beechcraft King Air 90, 200, 200GT, 250 and 300 models and the Hawker Beechcraft Duke.
